Pichwai
As the name of this brass wall panel suggests, the inspiration here is the Pichwai painting (literally translating to ‘hanging from the back’ in Sankskrit). The peacock is at the heart of this artwork, carved into the brass using the repousseĢ–low-relief designs hammered into malleable metal sheets–and spreading its feathers in semi-precious stone.
